When in Berwick

This past weekend I checked out North Mountain coffee shop in Berwick for the first time. I fell in love with every nook and cranny it had to offer. I've been a fan of their coffee for quite some time, so it was awesome to check out the birth place!

Afterwards we ventured further to Dempsey's corner to pick peaches at our heart's content. Such a great spot to check out -- especially this fall if you're looking to pick apples! Also, they have a mini petting zoo, complete with some cuh-razy goats.

Naturally when peach picking, cobbler surely follows. Here's the easy recipe I used for mine:

  • 2 c. fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 - 1/2 c. sugar, depending on sweetness of peaches
  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 1 c. self-rising flour OR mix together 1 c. all-purpose flour, 1 1/4 teas. baking powder, 1/8 teas. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teas. vanilla
  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Place peaches in greased 2 qt. baking dish. Sprinkle 1/4-1/2 c. sugar over peaches. Cream butter and 1 c. sugar together. Stir in flour. Add egg and vanilla. Mix well. Spoon mixture over peaches. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until light brown on top.
