Walks With Walter

As you may or may not know, there has been a grand addition to the McMullen family.

His name is Walter.
He is my little gentleman.

The gray patch on his forehead signifies the wisdom of a tiny buddha, covered in hair. (Get ready for the Anchorman references;)

Puppy love

This past weekend my dearest friend Cerys and I took him for his first walk at Laurie Park. After a few short minutes, we discovered his fear of other dogs, and his inability to walk for long distances. He made it well known that he MUCH prefers to be carried. If only he wasn't so dang cute ;)

You can probably tell that this little guy has won my heart.

On another note, sweater weather is in the air and I am so okay with that. Fall is by far my most favourite season, even though it only really lasts a few short weeks here. There's something about this season that gives everyone the right to a fresh start, a new beginning. I love that.

You know something else about this season? Candles. Don't get me wrong, candles are great all year round, but when the nights get darker and colder and you come in from the cold to a candle and your house smelling of something spicy and delicious, you instantly feel warmth. If anyone is looking for a new scent this season, check out Bath and Bodywork's "Leaves". Literally autumn in a jar. Shawtie's been fire burnin' on my desk for weeks now.

Alas, I leave you with a quote from one of my all time favourites, an especially great film to watch this time of year.

"Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address."
- Tom Hanks in 'You've Got Mail'

In a nutshell, Walter is the cutest thing alive, Tom Hanks is downright wonderful, Autumn has arrived AND I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT.

Until next time,
